Role – Graduate Landscape Architect
Location – Gloucestershire
 
Lead Careers looking for a graduate landscape architect for an established studio based in Gloucestershire. They work across a broad portfolio of projects throughout the UK and work spans residential, commercial, healthcare, education, leisure and high-quality private developments, with involvement from the early planning and assessment stages through to landscape design and delivery.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate landscape architect who is looking to begin their career within a supportive consultancy environment and has a particular interest in developing experience in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Landscape Architects and gain exposure to projects from the early planning and assessment stages through to detailed landscape design and delivery.
 
THE ROLE
  • Assisting with Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and Landscape and Visual Appraisals
  • Supporting landscape and visual baseline studies and site assessments
  • Undertaking site visits and contributing to viewpoint selection and photography
  • Assisting with landscape planning and environmental assessment work
  • Preparing landscape strategies, masterplans and design proposals
  • Producing drawings, plans and supporting graphics
  • Researching landscape character, planning policy and site context
  • Working alongside senior Landscape Architects on a broad range of UK projects
  • Developing technical, design and assessment skills towards professional development and Chartership
 
THE IDEAL GRADUATE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT WILL HAVE
  • A degree in Landscape architecture
  • A genuine interest in LVIA, landscape planning and environmental assessment
  • Strong landscape design and graphic communication skills
  • Good written communication and report writing ability
  • An understanding of the UK planning system and landscape character assessment
  • Experience with relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp
  • A proactive approach and enthusiasm to develop within the profession
  • Full right to work in the UK, visa sponsorship is not available for this position
 
Previous professional LVIA experience is not essential. The practice is particularly interested in graduates who have been introduced to landscape assessment through university projects and would like to develop this area alongside their wider Landscape Architecture skills.
