Role – Graduate Town Planner
Location – Cardiff, South Wales
Salary - £24 - £30K DOE

If you’ve got a passion for innovative planning solutions, Leadcareers are working with a private consultancy in Bristol who are seeking either a Graduate town planner or a Junior Town Planner to join their growing team and we invite you to apply.
 
Within the role the successful Graduate Town Planner will be working to deliver planning applications and appeals, undertaking site appraisals, developing planning strategies and providing advice and guidance to clients throughout all stages of the planning process.
 
GRADUATE TOWN PLANNER SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
  • RTPI accredited degree or are currently working towards this.
  • Some experience in the planning industry although not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to analyse complex data
  • Solid report writing skills.
  • Assisting in evaluating and processing planning applications, ensuring compliance with national planning policies and regulations
  • Conducting research and analysis of relevant planning policies, guidelines, and regulations under the guidance of senior planners, to provide accurate advice and recommendations for telecom tower project
  • Collaborate with internal teams, local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders to address concerns, facilitate communication, and negotiate solutions to achieve consensus on telecom tower development projects
  • Conduct site visits and assist in assessing the suitability of proposed locations for telecom tower installation, considering factors such as visual impact, environmental impact, accessibility, and public safety
  • Assist in preparing detailed reports, including site assessments, planning applications, environmental impact assessments, and other relevant documentation required for planning permission applications
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved plans, planning conditions, and relevant regulations throughout the telecom tower development process, under the guidance of senior planners
ON OFFER
  • Permanent and anticipated to be full-time (37.5 hours per week).
  • Salary range is anticipated to be £24,000 - £30,000.

IMPORTANT NOTE.
The responsibilities within this role are centred around the preparation of planning applications, site promotions and appeals along with advising on the development potential of land and buildings. This is not to be confused with Project Planning/Financial Planning/Transport Planning/Supply Planning. Only applicants with a degree in Town Planning and/or experience carrying out these tasks and affiliation to the Royal Town Planning Institute will be considered.
