
Role – Landscape Architect
Location –Gloucestershire

Lead Careers are working with a well-established landscape architecture studio in Gloucestershire that is looking to grow their Landscape Planning and LVIA team. They’re a friendly, experienced team working on a really good mix of projects across the UK, with plenty of variety in terms of project type, scale and location. Their work covers both landscape planning and design, although this particular role is very much focused on the LVIA and landscape planning side of the business. They’re busy, have a strong pipeline of work and are looking for someone who already has LVIA experience and wants to keep developing in this area. There’s plenty of scope to get involved in projects from the early stages, carry out site work and assessments, contribute to reports and gradually take on more responsibility with clients and project delivery.
THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT ROLE
- Depending on experience, responsibilities will include:
- Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA)
- Landscape and Visual Appraisals (LVA)
- Landscape character and townscape assessments
- Site appraisal and fieldwork
- Viewpoint selection and photography
- Preparation of ZTVs and supporting visual material
- Baseline research and landscape character analysis
- Assessment of landscape and visual effects
- Preparation of written reports and planning documentation
- Input into landscape mitigation strategies
- Working alongside planning, ecology, architecture and other environmental disciplines
- Liaising with clients and wider consultant teams
ABOUT YOU
- The successful landscape architect will ideally have:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture
- Previous experience of LVIA or landscape planning within the UK
- A good understanding of landscape character assessment and the UK planning system
- Strong report writing and analytical skills
- Experience undertaking site surveys and viewpoint photography
- Good communication and presentation skills
- An interest in developing a long-term career within landscape planning and assessment
