Role –Landscape Architect
Location – Kent
Salary - £DOE
This is a slightly different opportunity for a Landscape Architect who enjoys designing places, getting involved with clients and actually seeing projects get built. We’re working with a growing multidisciplinary consultancy looking for a Landscape Architect with around 2 to 5 years’ experience to join their team. They already have a strong technical background across engineering, drainage and SuDS, but they now want to bring more landscape design, placemaking and creative thinking into their projects.
So rather than sitting behind a screen producing drawings all day, you’ll get involved in the whole process. You could be out visiting a site, meeting a client, developing the initial concept, sketching ideas, working alongside engineers and other specialists and then helping take the scheme through to delivery.
PROJECTS INCLUDE
Public realm, SuDS and blue green infrastructure, Nature based solutions, Urban regeneration, Highways and streets, Education projects, Water related schemes and Larger multidisciplinary projects.
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT ROLE RESPOSIBILITIES
- Taking projects from the first ideas through to delivery
- Meeting clients and getting a good understanding of what they want
- Visiting sites and spotting opportunities
- Coming up with creative landscape and nature based design ideas
- Producing sketches and visuals to bring ideas to life
- Working alongside engineers and drainage specialists
- Coordinating with other consultants and specialists
- Speaking with local authorities, landowners and other stakeholders
- Making sure designs are practical and can actually be built
- Getting involved with levels, drainage, accessibility and biodiversity
- Taking more ownership of projects as your experience grows
- Helping projects move smoothly from design through to completion
- Building good relationships with clients and spotting opportunities for future work
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT REQUIREMENTS
- A landscape architect degree
- 2 to 5 years’ experience
- You don’t need to be Chartered
- Some experience taking projects beyond the concept stage and be comfortable thinking about things like levels, drainage, buildability, accessibility, biodiversity and how people will actually use a space.
- Good people skills as there´ll be lots of contact with clients, engineers, local authorities, consultants and other stakeholders
- A full UK driving licence
