Role – Senior Ecologist
Location – West Sussex
Salary Range - £30 - £40K DOE
Lead Careers are working with a West Sussex based multidisciplinary consultancy who are currently seeking Senior Ecologists to join their growing team. The successful Senior Ecologists will be assisting their Principal Ecologist and management team with ecology desk studies, preliminary ecological appraisals, bat roost assessments, and detailed Phase 2 habitat surveys for bats, reptiles, amphibians, dormouse, water voles, invertebrates, birds, and related ecological site works.
They are an established consultancy who offer ecological and environmental professional and technical support services for development projects to the private sector, local, and central government.
SENIOR ECOLOGIST KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree/post graduate degree in ecology or a closely related subject
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- CIEEM Membership (MCIEEM desirable)
- Protected species licences in particular Bat & GCN
- Excellent knowledge of wildlife legislation, planning policy, ecological report writing, and industry standard survey methodology
- The ability to undertake baseline preliminary ecological appraisals and protected species assessments, producing sound ecological reports
- The ability to manage junior members of the team and sub contractors
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A full UK driving licence
