Role – Senior Landscape Planner
Location – London
Salary - £DOE
A well-established landscape practice is looking for a Senior Landscape Planner to join its London team. The company is an independent practice with a strong reputation across landscape architecture and landscape planning. The team works on a varied portfolio of projects across the UK, supporting clients from the earliest stages of site assessment and planning through to the wider landscape strategy. They work with a good mix of private and public sector clients and have built long standing relationships with developers, architects, planners and other consultants. The studio has a friendly and collaborative feel, with senior members of the team remaining closely involved in projects and clients.
The Role
- The Senior Landscape Planner will be involved in:
- Preparing and managing LVIA and TVIA work
- Undertaking landscape and visual appraisals
- Carrying out site visits and fieldwork
- Producing clear and well-structured technical reports
- Advising clients on landscape and visual matters
- Supporting projects through the planning process
- Working with planning, environmental and design teams
- Reviewing development proposals and identifying potential landscape and visual effects
- Managing projects, deadlines and workloads
- Attending client and project meetings
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
Senior Landscape Planner Requirements
- A degree in Landscape Architecture
- A Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
- A strong background in landscape planning
- Excellent understanding of the UK planning system
- Experience preparing LVIA, TVIA or similar landscape and visual assessments
- Strong report writing and communication skills will be important, together with the confidence to work directly with clients and other consultants
