
Senior Town Planner
Location: Cardiff (with hybrid working flexibility)
Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 DOE + benefits

Our client is an employee-owned, integrated placemaking consultancy experiencing significant growth. Their Planning Team is at the heart of exciting projects across the residential, commercial, health, education, mixed-use regeneration, energy, and industrial sectors.
What makes this opportunity stand out? You’ll work alongside award-winning urban design and landscape architecture teams to deliver planning advice that’s not just about compliance — it’s about creating viable, beautiful, and sustainable places.
Your role will involve:

Leading and managing planning applications, site promotions, appeals, and advising on the development potential of land and buildings

Navigating complex planning processes for a wide range of public and private sector clients (from healthcare providers and educators to major developers and housebuilders)

Contributing to projects at every stage of the planning process

Collaborating with talented urban designers and landscape architects on nationally significant schemes
Key requirements:

RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or equivalent (or related qualification)

Chartered Membership of the RTPI (or actively working towards it)
-
Minimum 4 years’ professional experience in planning (public or private sector)

Proven experience leading and managing planning projects

Strong understanding of the UK planning system

Excellent communication, organisation and client-facing skills

A proactive, collaborative approach
